How To Motivate Yourself To Workout

You get up in the morning, look in the mirror, and say ”I really need to be fit by the time I walk down the aisle for my wedding. I have to work out!” But then again, you do so many things in an entire day that you end up forgetting about sweating it out at the gym. Then you tell yourself that it’s okay. You don’t have enough time to squeeze in exercise anyway.

I know that many people can relate to this scenario. Many people really find it difficult to have a motivation to set aside some exercise time. For this reason, let me give you tips on how to motivate yourself to workout.

Reward Yourself after an intense session
Treat yourself with a guilty pleasure after your spin class or boxing session. You can watch reruns of your favorite soap, dance to your favorite 80’s tunes, or do anything else you’ve wanted to do but felt you had better things to do. Make this a routine until your brain connects this as an incentive for working hard. Doing something that makes you happy after you hit the gym releases “happy” chemicals that make you feel really good. As time passes, your brain will begin to associate working out with happiness and feeling amazing. This way, you will no longer have to really push yourself so hard to go to the gym.

Involve your friends
Making promises to yourself don’t really work out well. I’ve been there and done that. My solution to this is to make the promise in front of my close friends. For example, I told them that I take it easy on the carbs. In turn, they told me that I’d pay a fine if I didn’t follow through. This way, I have a lot of “guards” who help me take on what I have always planned.

Use tools
This is the digital age wherein there are tools for any types of needs. Naturally, there are a myriad of software or apps that we can make use of to help us remain true to our goals.

Envision your future self after months of hard work
Imagine that healthier and toned body lounging and tanning at the beach. Imagine walking down the aisle with a beautiful gown the perfectly fits. Imagine all that. Now, do you want to leaner and fitter body for yourself? If so, do what you got to do.

Think positive
I am more than sure that you can read success stories online of exercise enthusiasts who succeeded in their goals because of their determination and willingness to go through hard labor before reaping the benefits. You will be like them too. Just work at it. Believe in yourself that you can do it. After all, nothing weakens the spirit than a negative frame of mind.

You see, these are five really simple things that you can do to inspire and motivate yourself to workout. Couple it with commitment and you are surely good to go. Good luck and I hope that these tips will work wonders on you like it did for me.
