Fitness Freak Challenges You Should Take on in Your Daily RoutineThis is a guest post by Brooke Chaplan.

One of the biggest challenges people who exercise regularly face is boredom with a routine. It ‘s simply much too easy to become bored when you are doing the same old workout every day. If you want to ensure you keep up with your exercise regimen, you need to change it up to keep it interesting. Here are some fun ways you can challenge yourself with new fitness activities. Add them to your current routine and shake up the muscle groups you tend to focus on.

Rock Climbing
If you live in any medium or large-sized city, you should be able to find a climbing wall somewhere within driving distance. Rock climbing is one of the most enjoyable ways to stay in shape, and will give you a total body workout that gets you incredibly fit. If you really need a break, and something fun to try, take a friend and get started rock climbing together. It will work your core and arms without you even thinking about it.

Try a Push-up Challenge
One of the hottest trends in fitness right now is bodyweight exercises. You can do them anywhere, and are a great way to get in shape fast. If you want to develop phenomenal upper body strength, try doing a push-up challenge. Start with as many push-ups as you can do comfortably each day. Every three days, add five more push-ups. Before long, you will be doing more push-ups than an Army private.

Look for Quick Workouts During Your Daily Routine
One of the habits really fit people adopt is looking for ways to add fitness to their daily routines. You can do this by biking to work, taking the stairs whenever possible, or getting up from your desk every hour to bust out some push-ups or stretches. Even just doing some jumping jacks can help you to feel energized and up to your fitness regimen.

Try Yoga
Yoga is one of the fastest-growing fitness activities in the world, and is beneficial for so many reasons. Yoga helps reduce stress and boost your immune system as well as stretch muscles and help you to maintain good balance. There are so many different types of yoga being taught now, that it’s possible for everyone to find one that meets their personal style and needs.

Learn to Plank
A great fitness move that everyone should add to their workouts is the simple plank. While it is simple to get into the plank position, it works your core much better than crunches. In plank you can add moves to increase balance, work abs, and build arm strength. Even students working on getting a masters in coaching will tell you to not neglect these types of simple moves in your routine.

Join a MMA Training Center, Dojo or Boxing Gym
Some people find that learning to fight gets them motivated to get in shape more than any other activity. If you find regular gyms boring, try learning a martial art to see if it improves your motivation. When you have a goal or level to work toward it can help you feel like you’ve accomplished more than just cross something off a to-do list in your daily routine.

Getting in shape should never be tedious. There are far too many different kinds of fitness activities out there for anyone to make boredom an excuse. Try one of these great fitness activities to challenge yourself and get in shape.
